New Year's Day Kiting and Other Stories
Wow, another new year and another awesome day for kitesurfing. The weekend after continued to be great with the 'off season' winds not being so 'off season' after all. Amazing sessions from Buba Mount Lavinia, Negombo and Kalpitiya!
The new 2011 Faith Kiteboarding Harness not only fitted well but looks great! See you out on the water!

Conquered - Devil's Staircase on a Bike!
We came across a post about a jeep trail that led to 'Devil's Staircase' a few months ago. Being fans of more environmentally friendly modes of transport we made our minds to conquer this on our bicycles. Thus the adventure began. Our equipment for the day included;
A 8 year old Giant Rock 4000 with worn out tires (note no suspension), A 6 year old Specialized Hardrock Mountain Bike with Front Shocks, 2 Helmets, Two camel packs with about 3 liters of water, Some 'Pani Kaju', Biscuits and Wallet.
Trip began after the previous day's climb up Kirigalpotha (thanks Heminda, the climb was epic, you didnt however warn about the leopards!). 6 AM breakfast at the best place in Ohiya, cycle up (in the cold) along the Hortain Plains road...What amazing scenary...Directions were quite easy thanks to the website that gave the information about this route. A few hours climbing and decending and your arms hurt (especially if you have no shocks on your bike). The last bit of the journey is all downhill on rough terrain. Epic and not for the faint hearted. Whole trip to Kalupahana would be about 4 hours and approximately 30 KMs. Highly recommended.

Sometimes its better not to party but have a nice rest and kite early morning. Like super early morning. Like at around 6 am early! What a great start to the day and week.

Tristan from the Reunion Island!
It just changes lives. You meet amazing people from all over the world. Tristan Dubourg from the Reunion Island was one of the persons met on a nice windy day on the beaches of Mirissa. He hadn't brought a kite so he did what any other kite would do...buy one! Hope you are enjoying your Faith Kite Tristan. The 2011 series is just out! Ps. How many of you know where the Reunion Island is?

What a start to the weekend. A early morning kitesurfing session on one's home beach. This time we dont have to drive hours to kite. Its just a minute away! Who's up to head to Trinomalee tomorrow...

Bungee Skimboarding!
Its a new extreme sport that one can do in virtually any conditions. When there's no wind or waves why not just BUNGEE SKIMBOARD. If you have a river why not BUNGEE SURF!
