Weligama - 2010

Kitesurfing in Weligama is a rare occasion. The bay shields the wind much of the time but sometimes you do get lucky.

Welcome 2010 with a Surf!

We just had to wait 3 days into the year and the winds picked up on the 3rd of January 2010. A fun session with 18 knot winds just outside the Mount Lavinia Hotel Area. Marco, marvelled the crowd with his 360's and jumps, Julian had a painful start to his season, his 10M had a patch and could not be launched, his 14M was too big for the wind conditions and once he did go out on Dil's 10M kite, the winds died down and he was stranded in the middle of the ocean! 2010, is bound to be an eventful year for the kitesurfers of Sri Lanka. Jaffna, here we come!
