Biking along the Kalu Ganga!

We didnt expect to have so much fun (and drama). The scenery was breathtaking, no cars - just cycling along the banks of the Kalu Ganga in Kaluthara, Sri Lanka.

Had a bit of drama when the chain broke. We had to improvise tools to make it (temporarily) but all in all loads of fun. When there's no wind, waves and the water is to murky for diving; why not just go cycling!

WHEN THERE'S NO WIND, WE'D CYCLE

We are happy to see cycle lanes finally introduced to Sri Lanka. Cycling is a super sport - its healthy and its environmentally friendly too! Our Monday holiday plan was to Surf but we slept late so decided to cycle from Mount Lavinia to Mischi's place in Negombo (check out his babies). The cycling itself was really nice, the route via Wattala, Canal Road was pleasant with hardly any traffic all the way to Negombo. Mischi's pool was a blessing to have after a long cycle. After downing a Red Bull and 4 fruit salads at Cargills Negombo we took the easier but deadlier Negombo Road back to Colombo and Mount Lavinia. We'd probably continue this over the next few weeks, when there's no wind, what better thing to do - Cycle!
